Austin brings back free Zilker Park shuttle services this summer

AUSTIN (KXAN) — With summertime around the corner, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department will roll out its free Zilker Shuttle services next month.PARD announced Monday the free services will run to Zilker Metropolitan Park from the One Texas Center parking garage beginning May 27 through Sept. 4. The services will operate every Saturday and Sunday — as well as during the Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays — from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. RELATED: Zilker Park adding new pay stations, increasing prices for parking The One Texas Center parking garage is located at 505 Barton Springs Road. Parking tickets must be validated by shuttle operators, per the release.Shuttle riders will be dropped off at the Zilker Playground and Barton Springs Spillway, a few minutes' walk to Barton Springs Pool. Pablo López, Twins finalizing four-year extension

The Twins are finalizing a four-year, $73.5 million agreement with starting pitcher Pablo López, a source confirmed Monday, which will keep the right-hander with the Twins through the 2027 season.The extension, which has not yet been made official, is supposed to kick in next season, which would have been López’s final year of arbitration, and will buy out his first three years of free agency.The Twins acquired the 27-year-old pitcher this offseason from the Miami Marlins, swapping him for 2022 American League batting champion Luis Arraez. Fire crews extinguish brush fire in Fulton County

CAROGA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Saturday, a downed power line started a brush fire on Route 29A. Crews from the Caroga Lake Fire Company and the Stratford Fire Company responded. SUNY Adirondack to walk 'Out of the Darkness'

Officers investigating shooting and stabbing at Florissant business

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A possible shooting and stabbing took place overnight outside a business in Florissant. It happened after midnight at "Al's Place," that's a bar and restaurant on Highway 67. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg and another with stab wounds to the upper body. Roughly $82,000 a year in household income in San Francisco, $74,000 in Seattle and $60,000 in Washington, D.C., a new study says, but only $24,000 in Cleveland. Researchers at SmartAsset, the consumer finance site, tabulated the low and high end of middle-class salaries in 100 large cities and every state.  The analysis adopts a Pew Research Center definition of middle class: Americans whose incomes range from two-thirds to two times the median household income.
